School Zone Speed Cameras Going Live Near Ferris High School and Adams Elementary

The new speed zone cameras on Regal St and Ray St started sending warnings to drivers speeding in school zones on Regal St and Ray St. Warnings will be issued through the end of October; in November tickets will be issued.

  1. The S-R article did not mention the times of day the school zone cameras are operating. Perhaps SNC folks can find out and post that info as a service to the neighborhood.

    1. Thanks for your comment, Paul. Cameras will operate during school hours, so folks should be aware of the speed zones anytime between 7:30am and 3:30pm. The school beacons will flash to indicate times when reduced speeds will be enforced.

      1. Seems to me the cameras only operate at drop off and pick up times to support the enforcement of school zone speed limits during those times only. Those are the time windows I’m interested in. One of the things these devices allows is that the regular speed limits apply at all other times.
