Housing Opportunities Q&A Session – June 1

A draft Comprehensive Plan Amendment has been developed following hours and hours of engagement and discussions with the public, local stakeholders, and neighborhood representatives throughout the City.  These amendments to Chapter 3 of the Comprehensive Plan are intended to refine and clarify the community’s vision for growth and land use in the city and represents a major step towards making housing in the City more diverse and easier to develop, obtain, and retain everywhere.  If you’d like to see the latest draft of the amendments, please see our project page at:

While the public comment period remains open, we’d like to offer an opportunity for community members to hear about the latest proposal and to ask questions of our planners.  To this end, we’re offering an online presentation and Q&A session on June 1 at 5:30 PM.  Staff will give a short presentation outlining the current draft of the proposal and then give attendees an opportunity to ask any questions they may have.  The session will be recorded so those that can’t attend can watch it at their leisure.  This open house will be conducted entirely online at the following:

Ben Burr Park Volunteer Day – May 20

You’re invited to join the Southgate Neighborhood Council in a project to help Ben Burr Park on Saturday, May 20 at 1pm.

Help us beautify Benn Burr Park by spreading bark chips throughout the planting beds and tree wells in Ben Burr Park. The Parks Department has recently pruned and weeded the planting beds; bark chips will help suppress weeds and retain moisture for the plants during our hot summer season.

Meet at the covered pavilion. Water will be provided.

Please bring:

  • Work gloves
  • Shovels
  • Wheel Barrows
